WHY: Where as the standard A'Bunadh is a sweet, supple Sherry matured expression, the new A'Bunadh Alba uses classic white oak barrels only, focusing more on the malty, fruity character of the whisky itself with plenty of vanilla from the oak maturation.
HOW: Using whiskies of different ages, a marriage of white oak-matured single malts from Aberlour is married into each batch, bottled without filtration at a very high proof.
WHAT: Aberlour distillery was built in 1879 and today continues to be one of the most quaint and picturesque single malt facilities in Scotland, nestled next to the Burn of Aberlour river in the Speyside region of the Scottish Highlands. Like Macallan, it's renowned for its Sherry-matured malts of distinctive richness and weight.
