Tasting Notes
Appearance: Deep amber to mahogany, with golden highlights.
Nose: Opens with warm vanilla, toasted oak, nutmeg, and orange peel, followed by tropical hints of banana foster, coconut, and plantain. The rum influence adds molasses, brown sugar, and dried fruit depth.
Palate: Rich and complex — a balance of rye spice, caramelized sugar, and molasses. Layers of dark fruit, baking spice, toffee, and a touch of tropical sweetness emerge from the rum finish. The mouthfeel is oily and rounded, yet balanced by oak tannin and rye bite.
Finish: Medium to long, with lingering baking spice, charred oak, molasses, and caramelized fruit. Subtle notes of leather and toasted coconut carry through to a satisfying close.
Character & Impression
The Foursquare collaboration is a standout for its harmony of two worlds: the structure and spice of American whiskey blended with the lush, tropical sweetness of Caribbean rum. It delivers depth and complexity while remaining approachable.
While some drinkers may find the rum influence sweeter than expected, most agree it’s a well-executed and distinctive finish — bold, flavorful, and elegantly integrated.
